The statistics workstation achieved first light.

SEER\*Stat launched successfully.

No data were analyzed.

No figures were generated.

No manuscript was written.

Nevertheless, a threshold was crossed.

For months, the idea of independent research existed primarily as a possibility. Notes were written. Outlines assembled. Questions asked. Plans revised. Yet the work remained hypothetical.

Tonight, the software opened.

A blank white window occupied a small corner of the screen while Vana'diel continued uninterrupted behind it. A fitting beginning.

The workstation itself has begun to assume a distinct identity.

## The Field Lab

Windows workstation.

SEER\*Stat.

Data acquisition.

Statistical analysis.

Future figures, tables, and manuscripts.

FFXI running quietly in the background.

The purpose of the machine is becoming clear.

Not merely a gaming PC.

Not merely a spare computer.

A research workstation.

## The Archive

Across the room, the Archive remains operational.

The Mac workstation continues to serve as the center of Forgotten Industries:

- Documentation
- GitHub
- Manuscripts
- Restoration planning
- Publication

The Archive records.

The Field Lab investigates.

Together they form a complete system.

## Observation

From bed, the Archive remains visible.

The map still hangs on the wall.

Hardware bins remain stacked beside the desk.

CaseLabs components wait for restoration.

The ring light rests in standby.

Nothing is finished.

Nothing is complete.

Yet everything required for the next phase appears to be present.

The work remains visible, even at rest.
