About the Archive
Forgotten Industries is the public record for Matthew Taylor Marx's restoration work, recovered machines, technical notes, evidence-based memoir, and the parts that refuse to become only engineering.

Matthew Taylor Marx
Former one-person custom PC builder under Forgotten Industries around 2014 and 2015. ASU Biological Sciences graduate. Completed a first year of medical school at KU, then turned toward the archive. Pursuing graduate study in library and information science, focused on archives and digital curation. Interested in provenance, scientific and medical records, restoration, and hands-on systems.
Forgotten Industries is the archive: the evidence shelf, restoration notebook, dossier system, public source record, and art-life pressure valve.
What About Art?
The question belongs in the machinery.
The archive is not only a restoration ledger. It is also music, design, jokes, taste, photography, grief, strange objects, and the life around the machines. The point is not to explain art away. The point is to leave room for it to keep speaking.
Origin
The evidence comes first.
The CaseLabs project was purchased around 2015 and stored after Matthew's father died. Returning to it in 2026 is part restoration, part inventory, part personal reconstruction. The point is not to make suffering useful. The point is to make the evidence visible.
