What is known
Found image supplied for The Shadow Zone: a phone screenshot of an Instagram post showing a green-and-cream chessboard. One side's pieces have vanished into a swirling dark cloud above a lone black king, and several of the remaining white pieces are half-greyed as if being consumed. The caption beneath asks "Hey guys, my opponent just fused their entire side of the board into a gestalt entity, which is currently dissecting and calcifying my pieces," ending "What's the best counter in this situation?" The post is reproduced as found. Maker, origin, and date are not recorded. The exif scrub reported no location metadata to strip.
