Identification notes
What is known
Found image supplied for The Shadow Zone: a phone screenshot of an Instagram story sharing an "iceberg" chart of audio production, headed "Thanks @xv.mpg.vx." The top tiers list parody-technical phrases such as "Ringmod sidechain with a quartal voiced FFT trigger" and a discrete Fourier transform formula; the middle has "DC Offset," "OTT," "Mastering," and "Mixing"; and the deepest tiers descend to "Songwriting," "notes," "Frequencies," and "Sound is actually just air." A column of stick figures grows more cavemanlike, then ends in a whale and a glowing figure. Maker, origin, and date are not recorded. The exif scrub reported no location metadata to strip.
