What is known
Operator identifies the retained VelociRaptor carriers as WD IcePack frames. The IcePack is the Western Digital 2.5-to-3.5-inch mounting frame and heat sink associated with 3.5-inch VelociRaptor assemblies. Photography on 2026-07-30 shows four carriers, each holding one of the four privately reconciled WD4500BLHX drives and each bearing a B1 marking. Exact frame part number, revision, adapter-board completeness, thermal-pad condition, screws, and any additional retained carriers remain pending. Do not assume the presence of an IcePack changes a drive's device-reported model from WD4500BLHX to the WD4500HLHX retail-assembly designation.
